Please check if you need a visa to travel to the USA and apply soon if you do need one.
You do not need a visa if your country of origin is part of the visa waiver program, but you do need an up to date ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) which must be obtained at least 72 hours BEFORE you travel. They last for one year and you can apply for one here.
Many participants will already be in Boston for the APS March Meeting (March 4-8). For those of you just coming to the workshop, arrival is on March 8 and departure is on March 11 (or late on March 10). The closest international airport is Boston Logan International (BOS). For those of you receiving travel reimbursement, you have to pay for your flights and ground transport up front and UMass Boston will reimburse you after the meeting.
The main conference hotel where most participants will be staying is the Omni Parker House Hotel. You should make your own reservation directly with the hotel.
Participants will pay for the room with credit card upon departure from the hotel. If you are receiving travel and accommodation support from the workshop then you will still pay the hotel and then claim reimbursement from UMass Boston afterwards.
If you chose not to stay at the conference hotel then you are responsible for booking your own accommodation elsewhere in Boston.
